Maxence’s brother was trying to kidnap or kill him, and an organized crime thug wanted to cut off Max’s head and feed it to the sharks for entirely different reasons.
So, when a cute little blonde stood up on a barstool in the middle of the Buddha Bar in Paris and drew the attention of the wrong sort of guys, Maxence swooped in for the rescue. Everything about her appealed to him: her sweetness, her giggliness, and especially the fact that she was in trouble.
That last part made her sugar and catnip to Max.
Luckily, he only had five days before he left Paris and Europe for wherever his global charity job was going to send him this time.
Why not spend it with the funny blonde who insisted he lie to her?
Indeed, if she thought everything he said was a lie, he could confess his sins, unburden his soul, and reveal what he thought he never could.
Five days with her sounded like Heaven, if he could just convince her to stop throwing him out of her hotel room.
My life has become a sad country music song, but instead of heading south, I went to Paris.

I was a good girl who had nothing left to lose, literally. My boyfriend had stolen everything.
Everything except a non-refundable plane ticket to Paris, which was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime where that deadbeat was going to propose at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
So, I got on the plane without him.
After all that, it was understandable that when I started drinking at the Buddha Bar, things got a little out of hand.
Luckily, a man intervened. He was so ripped that I could see every thick muscle of his abs, obliques, chest, and arms through the tight tee shirt he was wearing. He towered over the guys who were bothering me, and they backed off.
I took him back to my hotel because I was full of drunken, bad decisions that night.
The last thing I needed was a man who wanted to save me when I was trying to do all the wrong things.

When the man had arrived a few minutes earlier, Dree had noticed him as soon as he’d touched the bar, a few people away from where she’d been sitting. She was pretty sure half the people in the Buddha Bar had watched him cross the room and order a drink before they broke his spell and went back to their own, now-troubled conversations, but they were still sneaking glances at him.

The tall man had smiled easily while he ordered a drink, his gaze serene while he surveyed the crowd. He was really tall, too. His head stuck up above everyone else’s like they were a black-and-blond ocean and he was swimming with his head held high out of the waves, lest he soak his dark, curling hair that swayed over his forehead and neck. He looked like he was a white guy with a tan, or he might be olive-skinned, like from somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea. Something about him made her feel like a fish drawn to an irresistible lure.

When he twisted, turning toward Dree, his white tee shirt pulled taut over his broad, muscular chest and shoulders. The pristine cotton clung to the rounds of his massive pectorals, the ripples of his abdominal muscles, and his obliques that cut diagonal slices from his ribs to the waistband of his trousers.

Oh, somebody worked out.

Dree had to respect the time in the gym, even though she did not go to the gym nearly as much as he obviously did.

Or ever, really. The hospital where she worked had a gym, and she had been meaning to start going there for three years.

The man’s dark dress pants contrasted oddly with his plain white tee, which looked like it might be an undershirt. If it had clung to his skin any more tightly, she would have thought he had just won a wet-tee-shirt contest. She could see every one of his eight-pack of abdominal muscles, even those top ones nestled under his pecs.

Just wow.

When Dree leaned back to observe the guy’s backside, his legs were long and thick with muscle.

Between his incongruous clothes, tousled black curls, and sleepy blinks, the guy looked like he’d left his suit jacket, shirt, and tie on someone’s bedroom floor and sauntered into the bar for a drink.

That man could throw his clothes on Déchirée Dree’s floor anytime.

She was so drunk. This was not like her, but tonight, anything seemed possible. Everything seemed possible.

She wanted to touch him. The tequila shots she’d sucked down made her body feel languorous and heavy, and she wanted a tall, strong, sexy man to touch her, drive her backward with the warmth of his male body, and move above her and inside her with slow, sinuous thrusts, his faint masculine musk surrounding her and driving her out of her mind.

The deliberate way that man lifted his drink to his mouth—when he touched the highball glass to his full, lower lip before he tilted it, the liquid flowed in, and he swallowed—made Dree think he would be incredible in bed, that he’d take his time, that he’d know what he was doing to her.

The inside of her mouth watered like she wanted to lick him.

And he was still staring back at her, his dark eyes serious and almost wary.

He took the glass away from his mouth like he was stripping off his shirt for her to see his naked flesh.

Dree was leaning so far toward him that she nearly fell off her chair.

A new guy inserted himself into her view, jamming himself into the narrow space between Dree and the petite, judgy woman sitting next to her.

Dree looked up.

The new guy’s red silk shirt was unbuttoned to his waist, exposing a thatch of black chest hair. “Bonsoir.”

Review: Burning Ash by N. J. Walters

Burning Ash is a phenomenally breathtaking masterpiece in this wildly provocative and uncontestedly spellbinding series. Just when I can’t imagine that things could even more intriguing or intense, everything shifts and what I find truly leaves me speechless and completely delighted. What a brilliant and unparalleled series! I can only dream of what literary work of art will greet us next and steal the breath from our lungs while it continues to show us the things that matter most in life.

Asher has walked this world for more years then he cares to count. He has seen so much, and yet he still finds surprises along the way. One such surprise is a woman named Jo. She is his complete opposite in every way, and yet she pulls him to her at every turn. When dangers closes in, Asher must decide how best to fight back while keeping Jo close and safe. While he never say her coming, she gracefully walked into his world and mesmerized him by just breathing. Will the barriers between them prove to be as unbreakable as steel, or will their hearts find a way through the complex maze of differences to help fight the insidious evil that wants to destroy them?

I was totally taken by surprise with Asher and Jo. She is most definitely his match in every way, and I was stuck by how much he longs for more in his life. Asher is such a mysterious character up this point, so this is truly an eye-opening experience for me. I lived every second of this beautiful and life-changing journey. It left me in awe and longing to know so much about the brotherhood.

N.J. Walters is a fascinating author who never fails to rattle my calm with her bone-chilling thrillers while she melts my kindle with her fiery passion. These books are such a huge treasure that keep me so satisfied while leaving me with enough longing to keep coming back for more. I highly recommend this fabulous series. It is truly everything and so much more!

Review: Denying Red by Misha Blake

Cropped profile photo of two passionate people desire macho, guy hold lady touch girlfriend fit shape ass hips in black pantyhose tights nude bikini standing bedroom room indoors

My Review

Denying Red was brilliantly intense with its stunning fire and haunting heat. There was no hiding from this fierce love that overtook the heart and shocked the soul at its depth and purity. It was a mind-numbing experience that rocked worlds and turned ideas on its head. It was utterly magnificent!

Matt had his heart unknowingly claimed and captured by one woman. This woman only said a few words to him and yet she threw his heart and world into utter chaos. He couldn’t fathom that she could have such a hold on him, and so he pushed it away thinking it was just a fleeting thing. However, when she continues to haunt him, he rethinks his decision. Can his heart really be clinging to her memory because there was more there then he realized, or is their attraction just that sizzling and unforgettable?

I had an idea of what I was walking into, but it turned out to be so much more then I ever expected. I love those types of stories that grab you by the heart and never let go. Your attention is never far away, and your mind is fully engaged making it so much more intense and satisfying. I savor every word and emotion when I find stories like that. They force me to feel and show me so many things about myself. What a fantastic ride!

Misha Black sure know how to create a story that will delight, entertain and challenge! What more can you possibly ask for? I know I cherished this journey, and the characters tattooed themselves onto my heart for all time. Aside from the slightly rough flow of the words, this story was wonderful, and I enjoyed every part of it. Don’t miss out on this wild roller coaster!

Review: Unraveling Shaylee by Misha Blake

My Review

Unraveling Shylee is a fabulous edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense that is sure to have your pulse pounding and your heart on the brink of shattering. Nothing can prepare you for the wild twists and turns along the way that will shock and captivate. The beautiful yet heart-breaking story that unfolds before your eyes will leave you in awe and steal your heart from the very beginning. You have no chance of walking away unaffected and untouched by the wonderful depth of the breathtaking storyline and the beautifully complex characters that you meet along the way.

Nick has a good life, but he is missing something. His heart is set on capturing the one thing he has wanted for years now. The only question is if Shaylee will allow him to win her heart and keep it. Something has been growing between them for the past few years, and Nick is done with ignoring it. He wants them to move on together, but he isn’t sure if Shaylee agrees with that plan. When life takes an unexpected twist, Shaylee must decide if she will risk the remaining pieces of her heart by giving them to Nick no matter how amazing, careful, or loving he is. Can Nick convince Shaylee that they belong together, or will her stubbornness force them both into a bleak existence?

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful story along with its amazing characters. They stole my heart and captured my attention right away, and I knew it was only going to get better. The secondary characters were just as deep and interesting, and that made the story even better. What was weaved before my eyes was a miracle held in loving hands even when things got rough. The heart doesn’t let go as quickly as we think, and when the time is right, it reconnects us to those we have always loved and cherished. Time means nothing to the heart because it lives and operates outside of time and pays it no heed. All it concerns itself with is the love of the one that turns its world upside down.

Misha Blake is a wonderful author whose creativity and heart appears boundless and fierce. This story allowed my heart to breathe a sigh of relief and contentment. It was exactly what I needed. The only concern that I had is that the flow of the story itself was a bit jilted by an almost awkward pattern of writing. However, it is nothing that can’t be remedied by a good editor. We can’t let this excellent story be stopped by something as small as that.

New Release: The Blood King (Inferno Rising, #2) by Abigail Owen

My Review

The Blood King is a high octane epic level paranormal romance. It is sure to surprise and delight all paranormal fans with it’s non-stop action and heart wrenching journey. Nothing says fabulous more then a deeply passionate romance that was fought for every step of the way. What you find within these magical pages will never you the same again.

Landon and Skylar’s love story was perfect and messy, and a beautiful sight to behold. They didn’t apologies for who they were, and they did t try to change the other. All they did was sow the other person who they were. It was up to them to decide if they could love them or not. Theirs was a hurried paring, and yet they still had the time necessary to get to know the other. Their love and their hearts intertwined naturally and oh so beautifully. Their is a story of pain, determination, and so much heart.

I am truly in awe of this incredible series by Abigail Owens. It has everything I savor in a great story with relentless love, hard won hope, and a breathtaking world. My heart was ready to drown within this stunning world and never come back to reality. This series is truly the stuff of legends come to life! Do not miss out on even one second or you will regret it!!

Review: Leopard’s Rage by Christine Feehan

Leopards’s Rage is a fabulously gritty, marvelously raw, and so very real story that will make your heart hurt and soar. It will steal your attention and hold you captive as it seeps into your very soul. Nothing will tear you away from the provacative storyline as you lose yourself within its unforgettable and heart-wrenching soul filled with fierce love and heart pounding terror.

Sevastyan had survived a cruel and unforgiving upbringing to become an impossibly hard and demon driven man. He lives life the only way he can while looking out for his family. Most people steer clear of him, but one woman stumbles helplessly into his life. Flambe enjoys her small and comforting life. She has gained success and wants nothing more then to help others. When these two impossibly different people meet, a firestorm is created and threatens to end anyone that crosses its path.

My heart shattered for both Sevastyan and Flambe. Neither had a good life, but both are fierce fighters who refuse to give in. Although very different in every way, they both long for love more then they will ever admit. When convenience turns into feelings, nothing is easy or welcome. However, Sevastyan will not lost the best thing he has ever found in his life. He will fight to the death to keep his heart close for all time.

I found my heart became incredibly lost within the pages of this book. I couldn’t get over how stunning and extraordinary both the story and the characters are. They kept me guessing and put my heart through a meat grinder. Nothing was easy, but that made it so worth wading through the pain to get to the light and love on the other side. Christine Feehan is a phenomenal author who demolished my heart and made my soul crave these beautiful chacters no matter how stubborn or unworldly they became. She showed me how love can sprout and bloom within even the most hostile of environments.
